Have you seen the beautiful new Saks Fifth Avenue at the Houston Galleria? Ever since it opened I have been dying to visit! Well I got a chance a few weeks ago when Saks invited my Houston Food Blogger Collective group out for an event. Keep reading for my experience!
Setup:
The Galleria can be intimidating to maneuver. Thankfully, Saks is one of the few stores that you can enter from a parking garage without going into the main mall. From there you take an elevator right up to the second floor into the restaurant. You can also enjoy a smaller bar on the main level which serves drinks and food from the upstairs restaurant.

The clothing section just before you near 51fifteen.
Now on to the restaurant. It is nestled deep in the store. Yes, they make you pass by expensive designers so you can debate paying next month’s rent to buy that perfect dress so saw on your way into the restaurant. Once inside you quickly forget about said dress because the restaurant itself is gorgeous. From the beautiful gold door frame, blue accents, elaborate ceiling and views of the Galleria area, this place is breath taking.
The Drinks:
The bar is the center piece of the new 51fifteen so one would expect there to be great drinks! I ordered the peach bellini and while it is a “girly” drink it had some kick! I had to drink it slow so I didn’t stumble out of there, but it is a great drink that I highly recommend. During the happy hour, house wine and a few other cocktails are only seven dollars.

The Food:
For our event, we tasted most of the happy hour dishes. Get this, despite being a beautiful fancy restaurant, their happy hour prices start at $7! Even with the price, they did not skimp on the quality. Every dish we ate was amazing.

Classic sliders.

Black bean empanadas.

Seared ahi tuna
Overall:
I imagine that dinner is great there as well. We stumbled into the kitchen for a minute and everything being prepped including a chocolate cake looked and smelled amazing. If I make it back around for dinner I well be sure to share. What you must know now though is that the happy hour is amazingly good and fairly priced! Be sure to check it out.
Ooh girl, whenever I end up in Houston we need to meet up and have some peach bellinis! Looks fab, honey.
