Sweet Potato Trifle

If you have been around Black Girls Who Brunch for awhile you know I LOVE all things Sweet Potato! This love honestly grew out of watching my pinterest feed fill up with pumpkin spice recipes every fall.  As I scroll all of the pumpkin recipes I imagine upgrading them with sweet potato instead.  Since no one was doing god's work and converting all of these recipes to sweet potato, I decided to take on the challenge myself.   Hence my latest creation a Sweet Potato Trifle!  Imagine this as a deconstructed sweet potato pie or kind of like a banana pudding.  [...]

Vejo Review

*This post, Vejo Review, is sponsored by Vejo, but the opinions are my own!* The older I get, the more I hunt for quick and healthy food items.  So often, the quick options are packed with sugar and so many other no nos.  When I learned of the Vejo portable smoothie blender, I was attracted to the convenience first off.  Then I learned more about the products and was excited for the chance to try the smoothies with a convenient portable blender.   I tried the Vejo for about a week before creating this review.  Check out my thoughts! Easy Chicken Salad

I had a recent discovery while working from home or rather a rediscovery.  Remember lunchables as a kid?  If you were like me, lunchables were a bit of a treat cause my mom wasn't buying them every week!  Well, a few weeks back I was strolling through Sprouts and saw what was labeled as a "snack pack."  One glance at this and I knew it was nothing more than an adult lunchable!  It featured chicken salad, cheese, crackers and grapes.  I grabbed one and was quickly obsessed.  With any store bought thing, if I like it enough I'm going to [...]

Air Fryer Salmon

I have shared my love for my air fryer over the last few months, so I am sure no one is surprised that I am back with another recipe!  When I got my air fryer, my sister swore that salmon was the best thing to make in the air fryer.  My mind kept seeing the air fryer as a replacement for frying items on the stove.  Since I would never drop salmon in a pot of oil, it did not make sense to "air fry" salmon.   Welp, I finally did and I am SOLD!  For dishes like chicken and fried [...]

Guide to Houston Grocery Stores

When it comes to Houston grocery stores, I am loyal to NO ONE.  Depending on what I am cooking or craving, you can find me at just about any grocery store in town.   Plus, I grew up here so I've had almost 30 years of experience getting to know the grocery store chains here.  From posting my grocery store hauls on my feed I realized that a lot of you stick to one store and do not realize what you are missing.  So for this post, I am sharing the stores I visit and what I get from them.  Before [...]
