Weekend in Beaumont Texas

So hear me out.  I spent the weekend in Beaumont, Texas.   On purpose.  AND had an amazing time!  Most Houstonians know about Beaumont, it's the smaller city to the east of us that we pass on our way to Louisiana.  I honestly had never stopped in Beaumont or even thought about it.   So when the Beaumont Convention and Visitors Bureau invited me to come explore the city I jumped at the chance to see what the city has to offer.  From the food to the attractions, Beaumont really has a lot of great stuff! Check out my recap of my [...]

Guide to Lake Tahoe

Life got a little busy for me and I had not been able to finish the recap of my Reno/Tahoe trip! Reno was great, but Tahoe was next level!  I have never considered myself much of an outdoorsy person so I did not know what to expect from Tahoe.  I mean there is a lake and mountains, so I expected my visit to be all about the outdoors.   Once again our guides curated experiences for us that fit our needs.  For me, that meant a trip to North Tahoe where I got to experience great food, views and experiences.  Check [...]

Guide to Reno Nevada

*This trip was sponsored by the Reno Airport Services Corporation. All opinions are my own* A few weeks ago, I received an invite from the Reno Airport Services Corporation to visit and see that all Reno and the surrounding cities had to offer!  Now I must admit, I thought it could have been a scam, but once  I learned that United Airlines recently added a year around direct flight from Houston to Reno that the team wanted to showcase! For followers of my blog, you know this has been my year of travel so who am I to say no [...]

What to See in Charleston

Whenever I would say I wanted to visit Charleston people would ask me why?! It was not New York City, or LA or even Miami what was the attraction?  Well... it all started with a little television show called Southern Charm (do not judge me!).  I watch just about everything on Bravo so this show was no different.  From the show, I learned how beautiful Charleston is.  I did a little more research and learned more about all of the African American history in Charleston and decided that I MUST GO! I shared with you what I ate, but now [...]

Guide to Taipei

I am back from my first visit to Asia and of course I have so much to share!  I had the privilege of traveling to Taiwan for work.  Since this was not a personal vacation, I did not plan out my own itinerary or do much research before heading to Taiwan.  With that, I really went in to this trip with no expectations and that honestly made the whole experience better!  I compiled the highlights of my trip in to this one LONG post as a Guide to Taipei! What to See & Do Taipei 101 Once the largest building [...]

Houston Neighborhood Guide Pt. 1

I jokingly bragged about the excellent Houston tour I gave to my cousins last year and received so many requests to share the wealth!  I love my hometown and take great pride in showing it off to out-of-towners.   Many people do not know much about the city outside of NASA, Beyonce and our sports teams.   So I consider this a challenge and I must say most of my visitors go home with a new appreciation for the great city of Houston. As I started to think about how I can share my guide, I realized this deserved several posts.  I [...]

Weekend in Washington DC

I am back with more fun tidbits from my weekend in Washington DC  My weekend trip to D.C. centered around visiting the NMAAHC which I recapped in a previous post.  I really could have spent my whole weekend at the NMAAHC, but since we brought my two little cousins (12 and 13 years old) along I knew they had to see more than just the inside of the museum!  Maybe it’s the years of showing family around D.C., but somehow we finally managed to cram in most of the highlights in one short weekend *pats self on the back.*  I’ll highlight [...]
