Old Chicago Pizza and Tap Room Katy

So last week I did a few things that I do not typically do.  I went to a franchise restaurant in the burbs *gasps*  Hear me out before you hit the unsubscribe button though.  After being invited a couple of times to check out the new Old Chicago location in Katy, I decided to take their team up on their offer.  Their enthusiasm about Old Chicago was contagious so I broke a few of my normal Black Girls Who Brunch stipulations and tried it.  Plus I had fond memories of splurging on meals at Old Chicago while in college in Missouri, [...]

Helen’s Greek Food and Wine

After seeing several bloggers and foodie websites tout Helen's Greek Food and Wine as one of Houston's best new restaurants I knew that it needed to be added to the top of my "must try" list.  I ventured over with my lunch buddy/co-worker on a beautiful Friday afternoon.  Side note, I know it's January but can every day be 70 degrees already?? Lunch at Local Foods

Before everyone left for the holidays, my co-worker and I stopped over at Local Foods in Rice Village for our standard Friday out of the office lunch !  As the name implies, Local Foods showcases local ingredients on their menu and I love to support locally owned places! I love these types of signs! I need one in my house! Location/Setup: Local Foods has two Houston location, one in Upper Kirby and the other in Rice Village next to their sister restaurant Benjys.  This visit was my first stop to the Rice Village location, which is a bit [...]
