Black Owned Brunchin’

So when I travel there are a few musts for me when it comes to food.  First, I want to stick to locally owned spots that reflect the local cuisine and culture.  Next, I gotssss to find a brunch spot.  The reason there is obvious!  Beyond that though, I also really like supporting black owned businesses!  While thinking about these three things, I decided to put together a list of black owned brunch spots around the country!  I reached out to my vast blogger circle and friends for their advice and posts so that we can spread some love via Black [...]

It’s Not Delivery, It’s Brunch at Home!

So technically it IS delivery, but I loved this title so I had to go with it!  Brunch is very much a social experience. You grab your crew and catch up on the good gossip around a carafe of mimosas.  I completely get that, but some days I just want the food without the fluff.   Basically send me the chicken and waffles to my door, so I do not have to don makeup and a cute outfit!  For me, during the weekend when I am working my to 5-9 (i.e. this blog) having brunch delivered is THE best thing! [...]

Pei Wei $5 Lunch Menu

Last week, I stopped over at Pei Wei with a group of blogger friends to sample their new $5 lunch menu.  Let me start with this, I am not a huge fan of Chinese food.  That's not to say that I do not like it, it's just that when I am craving a certain cuisine, Asian food is rarely one of them.  So I went to Pei Wei, the Chinese fast casual, for this lunch with moderate expectations.  Trust me when I say, I was blown away!  The Pei Wei $5 Lunch Menu, packs quality in with value and flavor! [...]

Brunch and Slay Recap

Last week I had the privilege of attending the annual Brunch and Slay brunch hosted at at 51fifteen in Saks 5th Avenue!  As the organization name implies, this event is solely for women who enjoy a good brunch (totally me) and like to slay in the fashion department.  On a basic level it's an excuse to dress up for a brunch with a fun group of women!  I had such a good time at this event that I had to come back and do a recap!  Check out my Brunch and Slay Recap for all of the fun! What is Brunch [...]

Dairy Free Coconut Milk Frozen Custard

Today just so happens to be National Ice Cream Day! As you may have gathered, ice cream or frozen custard recipes are probably my favorite things to make!  For National Ice Cream Day I decided to change it up a bit and make a dairy free frozen custard.  Please do not think for a second that I am shifting over to a health food blog, because that ain't me! BUT I thought I would add a frozen custard to a repertoire for the lactose intolerant folks!  So enjoy this Dairy Free Coconut Milk Frozen Custard! The process for making the [...]

Birthday Dinner at Yauatcha

Remember when I dropped that list of Houston Birthday dinner spots?
