Not so Basic, Basic Invite

*This post is sponsored by Basic Invite but the opinions are my own* I am sure paper invites are among the many things that millennials are accused of not appreciating!  While I am one to jump on the latest technology can I just say that I love finding a beautiful invite or thank you card in my mailbox?  There is time and effort that goes in to picking an invite, finding some stamps and asking for people's addresses.  I truly enjoy it!  If you are like me, Basic Invite has you covered.  So get in to the Not so Basic, [...]

Bellagreen Winter Menu

*Checks calendar* February is almost over which means we are officially two months in to 2020! Many of us started 2020 with new years resolutions or affirmations for the year.  I am sure those included being healthier, working out more etc.   I am no different, but also know I have to be realistic with myself.  Ya girl likes to eat out!  I've obviously built a whole brand around this.  As such, I try to find dining options that are good, fairly priced and do not load on the calories.  Bonus points if they deliver!  Well, a few weeks back I [...]

ChopnBlok

What a nice segue from my last post about getting invited to blogger events!  A few weeks ago, I attended a pop up event at Flora Culture for ChopnBlok.   I had the privilege of being a friend's plus one (one of my tips) AND Houston Insider partnered to host the event (a second tip).   Honestly, I did not care HOW I got in the building.  I was just glad to be present for the ChopnBlok experience! The Event ChopnBlok hosts dining experiences which aim to expose the Houston community to Western African cuisine and culture.  With "fusion" being the hottest [...]

Getting Invited to Blogger Events

My friends affectionally call me "the plug" because I seem to have a knack for staying in the know about local events around town especially foodie events.  There are two avenues that keep me abreast of what is going on in my hometown, the first is my blog.  After almost five years in the game, most of the events I am interested in fall in my inbox in the form of press releases, invites or promotion partnerships.   The other side of this is just me being a Houstonian that wants to say informed on what is going on in the [...]
