THE Houston Itinerary

For those who follow my Instagram story, you are fully aware that this weekend I embarked on the Cadillac of Houston Tours.  A few of my cousins were in town for the weekend from Kansas City including my cousin Brian and his wife who visited last year as well.  Their last visit actually inspired my Houston Neighborhood Guides!  This go around, my cousin Troy joined in on the fun and I was determined to highlight some of my favorite things about my hometown.  Our weekend turned in to THE Houston Itinerary. A little back story.  I've lived in Houston pretty [...]

Neo Baguette

I know you guys love a low-key, best kept secret spot as much as I do!  I recently discovered a new one, Neo Baguette located in the Heights.  The setup and cuisine is enough to make this spot not so secret soon enough. Check the details of my lunchtime visit below. The Location and Setup After receiving an invite from the team at Neo Baguette, I decided to make a lunchtime visit during the work week to try it out.   I took Main Street all the way from downtown to the Heights and made it there in no time.  Perfect [...]

Houston Neighborhood Guide Pt. 1

I jokingly bragged about the excellent Houston tour I gave to my cousins last year and received so many requests to share the wealth!  I love my hometown and take great pride in showing it off to out-of-towners.   Many people do not know much about the city outside of NASA, Beyonce and our sports teams.   So I consider this a challenge and I must say most of my visitors go home with a new appreciation for the great city of Houston. As I started to think about how I can share my guide, I realized this deserved several posts.  I [...]

I have teased this for the last few weeks and I am finally ready to announce the details for my next event!  My last two sold events were fun brunches that catered to my women followers.  This go around I decided to change it up a bit.  I partnered with EaDeaux's Cajun Cocina to bring you all Girls Love Crawfish, a day party that will feature great music, drinks and of course food! Celebrating Black History Month with the Black Blogger Clique

Happy Black History Month folks! This month, we celebrate our culture and our history!  As a brand built on the celebration of blackness in the area of food and a lover of black history, I would be remiss if I did not highlight February.  For the month of February, I along with the Black Blogger Clique will be celebrating Houston's Black Owned Restaurants!  One of our collective goals is to highlight and support black owned restaurants through our blogs and we have found some fun ways to do just that for February.   Check out the details below on Celebrating Black [...]

Cultivated F+B in the Lancaster Hotel

When I rattle of Houston facts to a non-believer I generally mention that Houston boasts the second largest theater district in terms of seats.  I say this so proudly while privately I have to admit it is rare that I visit one of our beautiful theater district venues!  Well I guess I was due for another visit because late last fall a blogger friend dropped an event in our group chat that I could NOT miss.  Y'all, Boyz II Men scheduled a performance with the Houston Symphony at Jones Hall.  My R&B loving self would rollout to see Boyz II [...]

Omni Houston Hotel

About two weeks before Hurricane Harvey I toured the Omni Houston Hotel with the Houston Food Blogger Collective.  We loved our tour and I actually wrote my review while holed up during the storm.  I never shared the post though because I soon learned that the Omni Houston took on several feet of water and would be closed for renovations.  Over a year later and $30 million in renovations, the Omni Houston is back open with a whole new look. Just last weekend, our group went back for a tour and I gotta say I love the new Omni Houston [...]
