The Paris Series: What to See

Pardon me for the delay in getting these Paris posts out.  I have doing the most and for some reason thought it would be a good idea to go to New York the week after returning from Paris (more on that later).    I am now back, rested and ready to share with you lovely folks the rest of the details from my trip!! So since my last post one of my friends bought a ticket to Paris and has been picking my brain about my trip. Oh and best of all, she got a deal on her flight! I used [...]

Four Seasons Spa Houston

The Four Seasons is one of Houston's premiere hotels located near all the downtown happenings of the Toyota Center, House of Blues and Green Street.  As of late, there is a lot of construction in this area. From new hotels like the Marriott set to have a Texas shaped lazy river, to street upgrades and remodels like the one at the Four Seasons.  I was invited out along with my Houston Food Blogger Collective friends to visit the new upgraded spa and to check out the spa menu! While waiting at the lobby bar, the bartender told me that the [...]

Foodie Travels: Los Angeles Day 3

By day three in Los Angeles, my body did not know what way was up! We slept most of the day away, *sighs* I guess I only can be an efficient traveler for one day at a time. I am not a big fan of Fast Food anymore, because that seems to be the thing to say nowadays.  While in a pinch and becoming very hangry, I made a trip to Pollo Loco for food to feed the troops!  Once I walked in and saw the chickens grilling and smelling all kind of delicious,  I knew I made a good food [...]

Foodie Travels: Los Angeles Day TWO

Okay I am back to recapping my fabulous trip to Los Angeles. I am having to break it up by days, because I was greedy and ate way too much during that trip to put it in one post.  On day two, my body's natural central time body clock clicked in and I was up and out before 9am.  The early tourists wins was my motto!!! Breakfast at Roscoe's My sister was on team eager beaver tourist as well. Our first stop that morning was Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles.  THE creator of the unique combo! This is a tourist hot [...]

Foodie Travels: Los Angeles Part One

As a child I saw a movie about a disastrous earthquake in LA and swore that I would never step foot in California. Ridiculous, I know.  Then after experiencing an earthquake in Missouri AND one in the DC area, I finally got over my fears and decided a trip to Cali needed to happen sooner than later.  Once my cousin made the bold move from Texas to Los Angeles, my sister, a few cousins, friends and I decided that a trip was needed! So just one week after my trip to Nashville, I was on a plane again, this time to [...]

Back in Kansas City

I spent last weekend back in my birthplace Kansas City, Missouri, to celebrate my Grandmother's 80th birthday!  I cannot go out of town without discovering or rediscovering some of my favorite places. On my last visit, I introduced you all to the goodness that is Kansas City Barbecue.  I did stop by Gates again but this post is intended to focus on some new places! This time I picked a few other places in Kansas City that I love, Cupcake A La Mode and Peach Tree Cafeteria. First up, Peach Tree Cafeteria! This is Kansas City's go to soul food [...]

Indulging on the Carnival Glory Part TWO

Beautiful view of the middle of no where. It's been about a week since my vacation ended and I am finally writing my last post about my Carnival Cruise.  Then it's back to posting about Houston fare! So this final post will focus on all of the food we had in the main dining room.  For traditional cruising, you eat your dinner in the main dining room. It is generally a three course meal with several menu options.  Best of all you can order as many of the options as you would like.  The dining room is the best [...]

Indulging on the Carnival Glory

The girls and our personalized beach bags! that my aunt purchased from the Knot. They were great for carrying your stuff around the boat. My previous posts focused on what we did OFF the ship during our vacation.  My next few posts will focus on the food and fun on the cruise ship! For those who have not cruised before, cruise companies employ a bevy of things to keep you entertained on the ship.  Most of these things are a means to squeeze more of your money away from you like the liquor and shore excursions.  For the most [...]

Foodie Travels: Cozumel, Mexico

When we received our revised cruise itinerary (Hurricane Danny sidelined us), I immediately said BLAH to Cozumel, Mexico! Despite growing up in Texas, I have never crossed the border over to Mexico.  I have seen the border, been close enough to throw a rock over to it, but never ventured over until now.  For Cozumel, I signed up for a "beach day" excursion that included a thirty minute catamaran ride to a private island where there would be food and an open bar. This post is few words, and a lot of pictures :) My Cozumel excursion was [...]
