Cultivated F+B in the Lancaster Hotel

When I rattle of Houston facts to a non-believer I generally mention that Houston boasts the second largest theater district in terms of seats.  I say this so proudly while privately I have to admit it is rare that I visit one of our beautiful theater district venues!  Well I guess I was due for another visit because late last fall a blogger friend dropped an event in our group chat that I could NOT miss.  Y'all, Boyz II Men scheduled a performance with the Houston Symphony at Jones Hall.  My R&B loving self would rollout to see Boyz II [...]

Omni Houston Hotel

About two weeks before Hurricane Harvey I toured the Omni Houston Hotel with the Houston Food Blogger Collective.  We loved our tour and I actually wrote my review while holed up during the storm.  I never shared the post though because I soon learned that the Omni Houston took on several feet of water and would be closed for renovations.  Over a year later and $30 million in renovations, the Omni Houston is back open with a whole new look. Just last weekend, our group went back for a tour and I gotta say I love the new Omni Houston [...]

Happy Hour at Ruth’s Chris

With a little over three years of blogging, I find myself revisiting restaurants that I may have rewritten off in the past.  Most recently, I stopped by Ruth's Chris with my HFBC friends and discovered that I had them all wrong.  I put Ruth's Chris in the "generic steakhouse" box assuming they had no standout attributes.  Well a recent happy hour opened my eyes to so many unique and delicious items from Ruth's Chris that you HAVE to try starting with their happy hour.  Dive on in to this Happy Hour at Ruth's Chris recap! The Food Crab Beignets [...]

International Smoke Houston

Gather 'round folks! There is a new Houston restaurant called International Smoke and one of the owners is someone we all are pretty familiar with! Curry along with her partners brought the Bay Area restaurant International Smoke to Houston a few weeks back and I had the privilege of visiting with a group of food bloggers! Dig in to all of these details on International Smoke Houston! The Setup International Smoke [...]
