Omni Houston Hotel

About two weeks before Hurricane Harvey I toured the Omni Houston Hotel with the Houston Food Blogger Collective.  We loved our tour and I actually wrote my review while holed up during the storm.  I never shared the post though because I soon learned that the Omni Houston took on several feet of water and would be closed for renovations.  Over a year later and $30 million in renovations, the Omni Houston is back open with a whole new look. Just last weekend, our group went back for a tour and I gotta say I love the new Omni Houston [...]

Neyow’s Houston

I had a foodie mission during Essence Festival this year.  Try all of the great black owned restaurants in New Orleans and I clearly was not the only one because they all had lines wrapped around the block!  Several locals told me Neyow's was a must stop.  Welp their line was around the block too.  I vowed to swing by on my next visit to New Orleans.  So imagine my excitement when I learned Neyow's planned to open a location right here in Houston!  I tagged along with some foodie friends for the soft opening this weekend and got a [...]

Eadeaux’s Food Truck

A few months back I introduced you all to a new group I helped form, the Black Blogger Clique.  Our aim is to create a collective of black bloggers who curate events and content that fits our key demographic, black women.  We are still in the beginning stages so bare with us, but we did recently host our very first tasting.  Other than being fabulous women of color, our other shared trait is food so a foodie event seemed perfect.  Eadeaux's Cajun Cocina Food Truck (black owned!) graciously hosted our group and provided us plenty of content to share! So [...]

Shell Shack Houston

A few months back a foodie friend (@fashionablylatefoodie)  raved about a soon to open seafood spot, Shell Shack.  I honestly cannot even remember how she described Shell Shack, but it was enough to pique my interest!  After a failed attempt to visit during their soft opening, we receive a coveted invite to their media tasting, so of course we had to go! Check out the details of my trip to Shell Shack Houston below. The Setup Shell Shack took over the Social Junkie space on Washington.  They spent several months revamping the space to fit their needs and did a [...]

International Smoke Houston

Gather 'round folks! There is a new Houston restaurant called International Smoke and one of the owners is someone we all are pretty familiar with! I will avoid even mentioning her husband's name because Ayesha Curry is making a name for herself in the culinary world with cookbooks, a cookware line and as a restauranteur! Curry along with her partners brought the Bay Area restaurant International Smoke to Houston a few weeks back and I had the privilege of visiting with a group of food bloggers! Dig in to all of these details on International Smoke Houston! The Setup International Smoke [...]

Anywho, I am selfishly excited about the delay because it gives me more time to tell you about the event.  So check out the details below for the Dear Summer Beats and BBQ Block Party! [...]

East Hampton Sandwich Co.

East Hampton Sandwich Co. is coming in with a bang as it joins the Houston food scene.  They opened their first location in the ultra chic River Oaks District a few months back and have now joined Velvet Taco in a new retail space in Montrose.  I had the pleasure of visiting yesterday during their grand opening and of course I have thoughts below on East Hampton Sandwich Co.! Location/Setup Located at the corner of Westheimer and Montrose, the second location is in a great spot near Snooze and Velvet Taco.   Best of all, it has its own parking lot [...]
