Dropping in for a quick post about an amazing low-key happy hour that I recently discovered! I visited Mia Bella Trattoria with my Houston Food Blogger Collective friends last week and we were all pretty impressed with the happy hour offerings! It left many of us wondering HOW did we not know this existed?! And if we didn’t know, I imagine quite a few of you did not either. So here I am, doing as I do, sharing the wealth! Get in to this Happy Hour at Mia Bella Trattoria.
Note that Mia Bella Trattoria has three locations, one downtown, another in Vintage Park and then another in Greenway Plaza. We visited the Greenway Plaza location off of Richmond. I for one have passed this one several times especially when I go to the Edwards Movie theater down the street. This just happened to be my first time stopping in though!
The location is beautiful! The restaurant has floor to ceiling windows with a great “see and be seen” patio outside. Inside there is a large bar, large community style tables that are great for groups and a semi-private back room for events. The space is very sleek with beautiful contemporary gray chairs.
The Happy Hour
The Happy Hour is hosted Monday – Friday from 2-7pm. Let’s start with the drinks, the happy hour menu features several classic cocktails for $4 or $6. I grabbed the sangria (well two because they were only $4!). The menu also has other favorites like the Texas Mule, Cosmo, Mojito and Margaritas. It’s an all around win for your wallet!
On to the food… listen you typically do not see too much variety in happy hour offerings. You kind of see the same thing on every menu even when the cuisine is different. Mia Bella however offers some unique items for happy hour which only increases the appeal! For food items we dined on bruschetta with tomato & eggplant ($7), chicken, pepperoni & margarita pizza ($8), and truffled risotto ($7). We also enjoyed the chef’s board which is not on the happy hour menu, but is still a good price ($20). It is a beautiful spread and easily shareable with the happy hour group.
I really cannot name anything that I did not like! The truffle risotto is amazing and a nice addition to a happy hour menu. We also really liked the pizzas. And if you put a chef’s board in front of me, it will get eaten period. This one was no exception.
We visited on a Thursday and the happy hour was packed. So while I may not have been aware of this great happy hour, others have been living it up. (If you knew and didn’t tell me, we are no longer friends lol). The current crowd was pretty diverse, but trended a bit older and mature. I tend to appreciate those spaces because they know how to act! All the same, this is a great happy hour price wise plus the offerings are great too. Grab your crew and hit up Mia Bella soon!
