So have you heard about the Dear Summer Beats and BBQ event? Hosted at Sawyer Yards by CWP Event productions, this event will give attendees a chance to say goodbye to summer with music, barbecue and drinks! Originally set for September 9th, the organizers pushed the event back to September 22nd due to rain. Which only seemed fitting as we say good bye to summer! Anywho, I am selfishly excited about the delay because it gives me more time to tell you about the event. So check out the details below for the Dear Summer Beats and BBQ Block Party!
I had the pleasure of attending a media tasting for Dear Summer, at Beavers on Westheimer. Beavers will serve as the primary food vendor providing guests with delicious barbecue. If you like what you try, be sure to stop by Beavers as most of these items show up on their menu in some form or other.
Our tasting of course focused on barbecue. We dined on pork ribs, chopped brisket sammies, beef tacos, roasted corn salad, carolina slaw and kettle chips. So let me start with this, Beavers is producing some of the best barbecue in town! The brisket sandwich needs no help from sauce. The same with the tacos which we topped with our preferred salsas. Finally, the corn salad. I am not even a fan of corn on the regular but loved this combination. For the event, guests can order a barbecue plate with entrees and sides. I cannot even tell you all what to pick because you really cannot go wrong.
KiPops will also be in attendance. Last but certainly not least, there will be drinks provided by sponsors Deep Eddy Vodka and Silver Eagle Distributors.
If you picked up a ticket for the last event date, it will still be valid for the 22nd. If you missed out, do not make that mistake again! The tickets are free in advance, but will be $5 at the door. Food will be purchased separately so do not forget your coin! Last go around the allotted tickets went pretty quickly so be sure to grab one asap!
