Well hello April! Spring time is when Houston shines! Our brief winter is a distant memory and yet we have not reached peak Houston humidity or heat. For that reason, I love to hang out outdoors on patios with family and friends before it gets too hot. Of course, a visit to the patio requires a cocktail! Enter my new creation, a Passion Fruit Ginger Cocktail!
So this weekend, I created the Passion Fruit Ginger Cocktail while hanging out on my parents patio. To make my life easier, I added the Passion Fruit, Welch’s Refrigerated Cocktail as the base of the drink. I picked it up in the refrigerated section of my local grocery store which carried several flavors. The Passion Fruit version of Welch’s Refrigerated Cocktail has a great taste and refreshing goodness!
Rather than muddling or juicing a ton of fruit, I added the Welch’s Refrigerated Cocktail and spiced up with some other ingredients including ginger and soda. So here is the thing about ginger, it adds an additional flavor note and spice that takes the cocktail up a notch! Finally, if you just want a mocktail, skip out on the rum and just go with the soda! Add some garnish, and grab yourself a seat on your nearest patio. You my friend are for sure living your best life!
