Mardi Gras season is upon us with Fat Tuesday just a week away! This time of year means different things for different folks, but as you can imagine food comes to mind for me! Just last weekend I visited my local Razzoo’s to try out their Fat Tuesday specials. These specials start today, February 5, 2018, and run through Fat Tuesday! Keep reading “Celebrate Mardi Gras at Razzoo’s” for all of the details!
It should be no surprise that I am starting here. What’s a trip to Razzoo’s without a hurricane?? So here is the good news. For their fat Tuesday celebration the Hurricanes are only $3.50 and this is standard size! “Mardi Ritas” are also included in this deal. Best of all, the Stafford location has a nice size bar with plenty of tvs. You can post up at this bar and buy a couple of rounds and probably spend about $20. I call that a steal!
During my recent visit, I tried everything on the Fat Tuesday menu and then some. I started out with the cajun fondue which is not on the Fat Tuesday menu, but definitely worth the splurge. We then moved on to the Fat Tuesday menu and let me just note that everything on this menu is $5. First up, the cajun crackling & crispy chips with loaded cheese dip. I call cracklings pork rinds and let me tell you I have never thought to combine them with cheese, but trust it works.
We also dined on boudin balls, peel and eat shrimp and fried pickles. All were great portion sizes for the cost. My favorite of these three would have to be the boudin balls. Not too spicy, yet flavorful. Finally, the menu includes a signature Razzoo’s dish, rat toes. The name and the look had me worried. I was glad to learn these are in fact jalapeños stuffed with crab and shrimp and then fried. I can’t do jalapeños, but my sister enjoyed them!
The gist here is if you are looking to enjoy Fat Tuesday and not break the bank, head to your neighborhood Razzoo’s and enjoy some great dishes!
