Pei Wei $5 Lunch Menu

Last week, I stopped over at Pei Wei with a group of blogger friends to sample their new $5 lunch menu.  Let me start with this, I am not a huge fan of Chinese food.  That’s not to say that I do not like it, it’s just that when I am craving a certain cuisine, Asian food is rarely one of them.  So I went to Pei Wei, the Chinese fast casual, for this lunch with moderate expectations.  Trust me when I say, I was blown away!  The Pei Wei $5 Lunch Menu, packs quality in with value and flavor! Location/Setup

I visited the Pei Wei location on 59 and Buffalo Speedway.  In the past, I have dined at the one on San Felipe and Voss.  There are also a few other locations in the loop and out in the burbs.  All of the locations have a similar setup.  Guests enter, place their order, fill their own drinks and sit wherever they would like.  These type of fast casuals are perfect for a quick lunch work!

Food

Pei Wei’s $5 lunch menu features five dishes.  Many of the featured items are ones that my inner picky eater has avoided eating. As a food blogger though, I actually tried them and must say I liked them! Our menu included, Dan Dan noodles, Korean spicy, Mango California Roll, Sweet & Sour and the Thai Dynamite.  My favorites being the Dan Dan Noodles and the Thai Dynamite.

The Takeaway

I read an article recently that said more people are brown bagging it to work because they do not want to pay for a pricy lunch and restaurants are not always considerate of the one hour lunch schedule.  I thought of that article during my lunch at Pei Wei. Here guests can easily navigate the hour lunch, plus it is easy on the pocketbook.  That is often enough to sell folks on a lunch spot, but I will add that the food is good too!  Be sure to check out the $5 menu sooner than later!
