Guys, can you believe it?! 2016 has almost come to a close! There were a few lows, but the highs were amazing! For starters I turned 30, traveled like it was going out of style and of course had a great time with Black Girls Who Brunch! The end of this year deserves some celebration and I of course always recommend celebrating with food. Last year I combed the internet looking for a great restaurant to ring in the New Year and let me tell you it was not easy. Thankfully now that Black Girls Who Brunch has grown, these events fall right into my inbox. I decided to share the wealth and make a list of some great NYE dinner spots so you do not have to search far and wide. Enjoy this list and make sure you head to the bottom of this post for a nice treat 🙂
If you have followed me for awhile, you know this is one of my favorite spots in town! I recently visited Lucille’s for a tasting of their new menu and I must say it is fabulous! For NYE they created a five course meal for $125. I really could not get over of all that is included in this meal. Guests will go home stuffed for sure. Space is limited, so give them a call to reserve your spot for the 5pm or 7pm seating.
For the brunch lovers, on New Years Day Lucille’s will offer brunch from 10am-3pm. It will be their standard brunch menu with the addition black-eyed peas and collard greens for good luck in the new year! Lucille’s will also feature music out on the patio. This seems like a great brunch to bring in the New Year!
While I have not visited this spot personally, it happens to be in my favorite new area in Houston, River Oaks District! Plus some of my Austin friends swear by it, so based on that I am going to call it a safe bet for New Years Eve! Toulouse plans to offer their normal menu with a few specials including a Diver Scallops Carpaccio, Classic Filet Mignon and Citrus Butter Poached Lobster Tail Duo and a a Dark Chocolate Orange Vacherin. Toulouse also will serve champagne at midnight.
This hot spot has played host to Beyonce, so if I had to guess I imagine their NYE party will be pretty darn good. B&B Butcher’s will have live music all night long and will allow guests to order from their standard menu. According to Open Table they are all booked for NYE, so if your heart is set on B&B Butchers you may want to give them a call ASAP!
Weights and Measures
Starting at 5pm Weights and Measures will offer a four course meal for $75 per person with a midnight champagne toast. The restaurant will offer music and dancing till one am! So if you are looking for a Midtown spot to ring in the New Year, this may be a pretty good option!
For the Thai food fans, Songkran is offering a three course menu include an appetizer, main dish and dessert plus complimentary champagne. The meal will set you back $38 at the Sugarland location and $48 at the Uptown park location!
Harold’s Tap Room
I have visited the upstairs restaurant Harold’s numerous times, but for New Years Eve the party will be downstairs in the tap room! Guests will enjoy a complimentary champagne toast, $5 craft drafts, raffles and other party favors. Sounds like a fun night for Heights residents.
Red Lion British Pub
This is more of a party, but since it has no cover I thought it was worth sharing! Red Lion British Pub is a traditional British pub serving classic pub dishes as well as Indian inspired items too. In addition to no cover, guests will enjoy complimentary champagne and party favors. Unlike some of the other spots on the list, this one is open till 2am!
Hearsay Gastro Lounge
If you are looking for a themed party then Hearsay is where you want to be. Guests are encouraged to dress in 20’s fashions for the “Era to Remember” party. Plus, they will have a live band and a champagne toast to ring in 2017! This sounds like a lot of fun and fits with the look of the restaurant too.
Del Frisco’s Grille
Ahhh I love this spot and according to Open Table, they still have quite a few openings for New Years Eve at their West Elm and Woodlands locations! The food is good, plus you will be treated to a complimentary champagne toast at midnight. Oh and I would recommend that you get the Nutella bread pudding. It is a great way to say goodbye to 2016, I promise!
Cherry Pie Hospitality Team
The Cherry Pie Hospitality Team includes State Fare, Petite Sweets, Pi Pizza and Lee’s Fried Chicken and Donuts! For NYE, State Fare and Pi Pizza will close at 11pm, so that is plenty of time to grab dinner before going out for a night on the town. Pi Pizza will also offer late night delivery up until 2am. Sounds like a plan for a NYE party! Petite Sweets and Lee’s will close at 6pm and 9pm respectfully so if you want that to be your last meal for 2016, you better plan to go early!
Last but not least, our friends over at Fleming’s are offering a full NYE menu ! For $89 a person, guests will enjoy a three course meal including a filet paired with lobster as the entree. If that was not enough, they are also throwing in Flemings signature potatoes, which I personally LOVE. The Fleming’s team also selected cocktails that pair perfectly with this menu. My family and celebrated Thanksgiving before heading to Paris and it really was a great holiday dinner. We thoroughly enjoyed it!
… And a Giveaway!
Before I go, what better way to ring in the new year than a giveaway!!! Fleming’s has provided me with another $100 gift card to give to one lucky follower. Please note, Flemings has locations nationwide, so this is open to more than just Houstonians. Entering is simple!
