Four Seasons Spa Houston

The Four Seasons is one of Houston's premiere hotels located near all the downtown happenings of the Toyota Center, House of Blues and Green Street.  As of late, there is a lot of construction in this area. From new hotels like the Marriott set to have a Texas shaped lazy river, to street upgrades and remodels like the one at the Four Seasons.  I was invited out along with my Houston Food Blogger Collective friends to visit the new upgraded spa and to check out the spa menu! While waiting at the lobby bar, the bartender told me that the [...]

Tipsy Dessert Bar

So I got a little "tipsy" with a few of my Houston Food Blogger Collective friends this past Friday! Kim from Adventures in a Newish City, organized an ice cream tasting for us at the Tipsy Dessert Bar to try their dairy free alcohol infused ice cream! But first, we needed to fill our bellies with some good food.  We stopped over at Helen's Greek and Wine for dinner.  I blogged about this amazing spot a few months back and since then, they have been nominated for a James Beard award. They are the real deal now! I was not on [...]

Rice Krispie Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

If you recall in my Los Angeles recap, I raved about the Rice Krispie Chocolate Chip cookie I devoured at the Tiago Coffee Shop on Hollywood Boulevard.  As promised, I went home and tinkered around in my kitchen until I created a cookie similar to the one I had in Los Angeles!  Baking has a chemistry aspect to it that I am not well versed in, so I started with a recipe from Spoon Fork Bacon.  I follow this blog on Instagram so they were a familiar name that I trusted. In case you forgot *swoons* The first [...]

Buffalo Bayou Brewery

If anything, this blog has forced me to be more adventurous when it comes to my foodie excursions.  I am always looking for new and unique content to keep things fresh around here.  Over the weekend, my friend invited me to Buffalo Bayou Brewery with a small group of his co-workers.  Not going to say that I leaped at the chance, because I am not a beer drinker, but after giving it some thought I decided that it may be worth the trip. Location/Setup: Buffalo Bayou Brewery is located off of I10 about a block or so away from the [...]

Time for Fall: Sweet Potato Muffins Recipe

When I am asked that cliche question, "Can you cook?" I usually respond affirmatively, but note that I am even better at making reservations *hair flip*.  Even though someone else doing the cooking is ideal, this foodie actually can cook... when I feel like it!  Since starting this blog, I have intended to add my at home foodie adventures to the mix, and the holiday season is as good of time as ever. Here is my Sweet Potato Muffin Recipe! For me fall means sweet potato season NOT pumpkin season.  My favorite stores are on the pumpkin bandwagon, so I have [...]

National Food Days List

Since I have been blogging, it seems like EVERY week I am alerted to some National Food Day. My first question was, what greedy person created these days? From my wikipedia browsing research, a wide variety of people have the "authority" to select a day for their preferred food. To my surprise, Presidents of our great country are behind a few for these days. For National Ice Cream Day, Ronald Reagan made a proclamation where he labels Ice Cream nutritious and wholesome therefore worthy adoration on the third Sunday of July.  Oh, I agree Mr. President. For other days, some random organization [...]

Foodie Problems

I will be the first to admit, most of these are first world problems! But as I was thinking about the life of a foodie, I could not help but think it is not all glamour and free dinners.  Here are the "problems" I came up with and I thought I would share, ha! Pondering about world problems. 1)I try to keep it positive for the most part on my blog.  The idea is that you can come here for places I recommend, not places I hate. (Check out my Zomato account for the whole gamut!)  Now while I [...]
