Bowl and Barrel

I am right in the midst of a marathon of food blogger events!  It's all fun and games until you have 15 blog posts to share.  Bear with me while I power through the backlog.   So, one of my more unique events was a trip to Bowl and Barrel in City Centre.  This high end bowling alley caters to the foodie who wants to partake in some while eating good food.  I had the pleasure of visiting Bowl and Barrel with my foodie friends from Houston Food Blogger Collective! Location I would not be real if I did not [...]

Peli Peli Kitchen

A couple months back I attended a watch party to cheer on the Houston restauranters behind the Peli Peli concept as they competed on CNBC's Restaurant Startup.  Using the Shark Tank format, contestants compete for an investment to start a new restaurant.   During the show, the team presented a fast casual option to their widely successful Peli Peli restaurant.   The team won the competition and began preparing to open their new concept, Peli Peli Kitchen!  In preparation they also hosted a pop up kitchen earlier this summer which I attended and thoroughly enjoyed.  Now as they open the first Peli Peli [...]

Shake Shack is HERE!

Guess what guys, Shake Shack is here! Shake Shack is here!!!  Well, almost! This past weekend Shake Shack hosted a pop up at Pass and Provisions  to get Houstonians excited about the new addition to the Houston burger scene.  In a few weeks, Shake Shack will take up residence in the newly remodeled Saks 5th Avenue wing in the Galleria.   I got a chance to stop by the pop up last weekend and here are my thoughts. The Food: The menu was a "give them a small taste" type of menu with only a few options.  For example they did not [...]

Diner En Blanc 2016

*This post is part of a Diner En Blanc series! Check out the rest of the series here*  Yesterday, I attended Houston's Diner En Blanc 2016.  Just like last year, I complained all the way up until the event, but once the tables were sat and the napkin wave began I was again in love with this event!Someone is probably thinking, DANG she's writing about that event again?! I apologize in advance, but for whatever reason my views tell me that people love reading about Diner En Blanc SO I am just here to give the people what they want :). [...]

Gateway Memorial City

A year into blogging and I am probably at a foodie related event at least once a week.  Still, my favorite events are those with my Houston Food Blogger Collective!  It is fun not to feel like a crazy person whipping out your iPhone every time a new dish appears from kitchen.  When I am among friends, we ALL are eager to get the best shot!  Our most recent HFBC event was no different.  This time we were in for a treat, our hosts Gateway Memorial City invited us to try three restaurants in the Memorial Gateway Complex.  The new State [...]

Third Coast

Earlier this week I dined on a delicious five course meal with wine pairings at the brand new Third Coast, formerly Trevisio! Nestled right in the thick of the Texas Medical Center, this restaurant offers doctors, business folks and patients alike a fine dining experience right in the area that they work.  Our event started with an introduction from the President of the Texas Medical Center Dr. Robert C. Robbins introduced us to the brand new restaurant Third Coast! Once we realized we were no longer going to be feasting on the typical Italian meal that was standard at Trevisio, we [...]

The Morning After Brunch Event Review

I had the pleasure of attending the inaugural Morning After Brunch event hosted by Houston Press!  This event allowed attendees to sample the top brunch spots in the city in one venue.  Talk about convenient!  I scored VIP tickets which allowed me early entry.  With no lines I meandered through the different booths, took great pictures and decided on my favorite, all before the general admission folks entered.  The line curved around the parking lot and once they opened the flood gates, I kicked back in the VIP section.   In short, invest in VIP tickets.  For all of the [...]

Diner En Blanc Houston 2016 Prep

*This post is part of a Diner En Blanc Series!  Check out the rest of the posts here!* Despite my gripes from last year, I am back for more with Houston's second edition of Diner En Blanc! This years event is set for Saturday October 15th.  *Fingers crossed* that we do not have a weather mishap that requires rescheduling like last year.  The Houston event is returning with new hosts this year and I expect it to be even better.  The new hosts have successfully hosted Diner En Blanc in New Orleans and Atlanta, so I imagine they know what [...]
