When my dad called me inviting me to lunch, I knew it would consist of some Vegetarian or Vegan place.  My dad has been on vegan kick for the last few years and he takes every opportunity to try to convert the rest of us.  Despite my reluctance, I took my dad up on his offer to try a Pepper Tree, a vegan buffet.  The place is styled like a Chinese buffet, only it’s Vegan. My sister, who came along is more amenable to the vegan diet than me.  As we walked up, I spotted a Chipotle next door and debating making a run for it.  I let it be known that I would not be partaking in any fake meats.  I will stick to the the vegetable only dishes. I did not care if everyone says it tastes just like chicken, it’s not chicken!

It’s an all you can eat buffet for about $16 a person. The other patrons were the skinniest bunch I have ever seen at a buffet!  I grabbed the safe stuff, like salad, plain rice, plain noodles :).  I got a little adventurous and went for the spinach dumplings, spring rolls, some fried veggie fritter thing and some other stuff that I cannot name!  Let me preface my opinion with this, first off I am not big on the vegan diet and I have also never been a fan of Chinese food, BUT I thought the place was pretty good. All of the food appeared for fresh and brightly colored.  I probably would never just go on my own though.  If you are a vegan or vegetarian, I think this is a great place to go though.
